Joshua Lee Ortiz
Our hearts are broken as we grieve with you the passing of our fearlessly creative and passionate Joshua Ortiz. He left a legacy of kindness, empathy and service to all people, especially the hungry, the poor and the marginalized. He was a loyal and fiercely protective friend. He was an incredibly talented designer and never ceased to push the boundaries of his craft. He was a strong leader who helped grow Ambrose Furniture Works into the beautiful trade showroom and design center it is today. He was the heart and vision of our business. While we may not fully understand God's plan in this pain, Josh would remind us that, "God is good all the time." Please join us in praying for comfort and peace as we mourn this profound loss. Thank you all for your support. Thank you for your friendship. Josh loved you. We love you.
JOSHUA ORTIZ'S GIVING BACK FOUNDATION
Josh was one of our beloved designers that was always, and will now continue to be, an advocate of single mothers and kids who are in need. His foundation will help Scotty’s House, Voices for Kids, and the Bryan Church Pantry, philanthropies Josh always kept close to his heart.
Ambrose will be matching donations on the first to $100,000 donated.
In an effort to keep Joshua Ortiz’s legacy alive and active, Ray Jezisek and Ambrose Furniture Works began to implement and sponsor Joshua's fund earlier this year with the help and guidance of Scott Monk with Charis Legacy Partners.
With the guidance and direction given from Scott, Ray began to brainstorm on how to make the most impact and so along with the help of Hailey Kolbe, Alley Matarrita, Colton Wiggins, Ronnie Ochoa, and Efrain Estrada, we hosted the first annual Joshua Ortiz "giving back" Memorial Fund Benefit on October 21, 2021 and as of November 17th donations collected exceeded over $142,000 and have been divided equally amongst several charities that Josh did or would hold a special piece of his heart towards.
The local charities that benefited from the generosity of the donors that loved and cared so deeply for Joshua include The Brazos Church Pantry, Scotty’s House, Voices for Children & Twin City Missions (Phoebe's Home) The other charity that Ray wanted to support in Josh's honor, and one that he felt Josh would approve of, is The Trevor Project. This organization helps at-risk youth within the LGBTQ community throughout the United States.
Ray Jezisek and Ambrose Furniture Works are forever thankful for being able to host this event and grateful to everyone that supported Joshua's " Giving Back Foundation'' . We only hope to keep giving back, in Joshua's honor to our local and regional community for many years to come.
